29 Things I Love About Sean
I was popping pain pills last Thursday and in no condition to publish a blog post, but I did manage to write a little bit Wednesday night. It was tough to decipher some parts because I hadn’t figured out this swipe keyboard yet, but here it is as I believe I intended it:
I have the pleasure of sleeping in a recliner until I get feeling back in my arm so this post is brought to you by painkillers and insomnia.
At the risk of this turning into a broken wrist blog for the next seven weeks, I am going to kick this off with a quick update on my medical situation. If you don’t care, I totally get that, and you can feel free to skip ahead to the good stuff.
I had my surgery yesterday, and it went really well. I felt very calm about the whole thing until the anesthesia started to hit. She said, “You’re going to feel like you have had a ton of drinks, and they’re all hitting at once, so just be prepared for that.” As soon as that feeling kicked in, I began sobbing, and the last thing I remember is her rubbing my shoulder and telling me everything would be ok. Next thing I know, I woke up and surgery was over. And then I cried because I was embarrassed about crying beforehand.
They cheered me up by switching the topic to television, and I enlightened a room full of medical staffers about Married at First Sight.
Overall it went really smoothly, and I can’t say enough nice things about Coastal Orthopedics and their staff.
I also can’t say enough nice things about my guy Sean, so I am going to do that now. Here are some nice things about Sean — 29 to be exact — in honor of Sean’s birthday week.
When I told him about this plan, he said it would get tough after 12.

That’s all I wrote that night. Sean read it the next morning, and said, “You didn’t even get to number one?!”
Anyway, let’s do this.
He’s the full package — brains, beauty and braun. I landed a triple threat.
He’s enthusiastic. Never seen anyone get so excited about getting a dollar store in Palmetto.
He simultaneously praises me for where I am now and pushes me to grow.
He’s a good dog dad to Kane.
He’s a hard worker.
He is sincere.
He sings every song in a high-pitched voice no matter what it is.
He is good at saying no when people invite us to do things we don’t want to do.
He keeps our house super clean. Like way cleaner than it would be if it was up to me to clean it.
He makes a mean painkiller.
He’s a Gator fan.
He knows juuust how much sports talk I can take before losing my mind. (It’s like this much 👌.)
He loves superhero themed movies and shows like me.
He cries during every. single. episode. of This Is Us.
The other day he looked up exasperated from his tablet and said, “I can’t stop reading about Mount Everest,” which is my favorite thing anyone has said ever.
He genuinely wants the best for everyone.
He’s smart with money and reins me in when I need it.
He thinks things through and is a great soundboard because I tend to be more of a go with my gut kind of gal.
He can usually identify when I’m tired or hungry and it may be affecting my mood.
He understands and appreciates the value of a good pool day.
He has a “dog walking hat,” and he looks forward to putting it on and seeing Kane’s reaction.
He is extremely patient, which is great because I’m not.
He is handy.
He’s really good at cooking.
He doesn’t complain about hosing my chickens’ poop off our patio pretty much daily (at least not out loud).
He appreciates weekend breakfast as much as I do.
He’s always willing to try new things.
He’s incredibly thoughtful and puts my needs first. Just the other night at dinner, he let me have the last order of vegan pho. That’s love.
His spite mustaches never last long.
BOOM.
