Revisiting my Football Predictions

On August 28th, I wrote a blog post about football season and outlined all my hopes and dreams. Well, now that football season is over, let's revisit that list, shall we?

Some notes from January 7th Me to August 28th Me:

The top 10 things I am currently feeling about football that I will hold on to until proven wrong in a few days: Oh, sweetie. Just you wait.

  1. Alabama won’t always be a powerhouse. This is the year they begin their decline and let the rest of the SEC have a chance. I think we all knew this wasn't going to happen. Thank u, next.

  2. Feleipe Franks, you son of a gun! We’re so excited to have ya. You’re going to turn this program around and be the leader we’ve been searching for since Tebow bid us adieu. Ok, so I'm not necessarily running out to buy a Franks jersey, but the kid certainly learned and grew a lot this season and, I have to say, I won't be upset if he starts next year.

  3. And speaking of leadership…Dan Mullen! Step right up, bud! If anyone can turn this program around, it’s you. Looking forward to a 10-win season! DAN MULLEN, YOU SON OF A GUN. I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU FOR TEN WINS!

  4. Miami is not relevant, and they will never be relevant again. Girl. Preach.

  5. FSU has had some fun these past few years, but it’s time for them to crawl back to the little leagues and let the big kids play some ball. True. I'm actually sad they didn't make it to a bowl game because it's so hilarious to watch them play.

  6. It’s so great that Urban Meyer is gone because he’s not that talented and he’s super controversial. We will not miss him this year. I mean, he did retire -- but not before screwing up my bowl picks.

  7. I will attend multiple games in the Swamp this year because I am not busy at all. I went to one (LSU). It was the best game I've ever been to. Happy 'bout it.

  8. This new shirt I got from Bealls is my lucky shirt, and I will be wearing it when the Gators blow our minds on Saturday night. And then I will be wearing it every weekend. I don't remember which shirt I was referring to here because I have a shopping problem, but sure, girl.

  9. I will probably win bowl pick’ems again this year and use the money to pay off my car. Ok, so I didn't win, but I came in third! I actually tied for second (with my SIL) but lost the tiebreaker. Didn't pay off my car, but did put a little cashola in the bank...

  10. Our players will make great choices because most 20-year-old kids do. Nothing too crazy went down. Overall, real proud of ya, boys.

All in all, it was a fantastic season, and Dan Mullen is the REAL. FREAKING. DEAL. Super sad this season is over, but I can't wait to see what he does next season.

So, all that's left to do is root for Alabama tonight while secretly cheering when Clemson scores. Ugh. Clemson is less evil than Notre Dame, but they're still not someone I want to cheer for.

Until next year!
