Week 3: April 1st-7th
Week 4: April 8th-14th
Week 5: April 15th-21st

Day 36: Wednesday, April 22nd

I shopped Sean's closet instead of cleaning out my own.

Happy Earth Day! I hope the earth is enjoying its time without people (or at least, with fewer people). I've seen a disappointing number of people posting photos of themselves posing with animals at zoos in honor of Earth Day. Isn't that kind of the opposite of the point? But good on you for trying to celebrate I guess?

My back is KILLING me today. Much worse than it was yesterday. Not a good day for it either because I had multiple conference calls, and I couldn't help but weep with every spasm. I did some YouTube yoga, which helped a little.

Sean is amazing and picked up my favorite greek dressing at Detwiler's, so I enjoyed myself a delightful greek salad for lunch (with a side of grilled cheese because I'm only human).

Then I watched Sean do a Facebook Live workout while I drank a vodka soda. I asked if I could take a picture of him, but he said no, so you guys get yet another selfie for the pic of the day.

See ya tomorrow (hopefully with a better back)!

Day 37: Thursday, April 23rd

I did not take a picture today. Oops! Straight to the recap we go...

It's Bucs Draft Day or whatever! Wooo, go Bucs. We celebrated with Pub Subs for lunch and margs with dinner. I am officially on a quest to find the perfect margarita recipe. I am this 👌 close and will share as soon as I master it.

Our neighbors have a chihuahua who is constantly busting out of the house to wreak havoc on the street. There's a hole in our fence that isn't quite big enough for the chickens to fit through, but the chihuahua has no problem slipping in. At least once a week, he breaks into our yard, and the girls freak out (even though they could probably take him), and we have to get the chihuahua out of the yard, and it's this whole dramatic thing...

Well, today, I about lost it because we walked outside with the dogs to go on a galavant, and there was the chihuahua...running around...in...a TUTU!

No gifs on Google Images, but TONS of images if you're interested. This tutu is the closest one I could find to the one we witnessed in person today.

Day 38: Friday, April 24th

It was stormy all day today, so Millie spent most of her time by our backdoor. (Michelle is having a broody moment, so Millie is living only-chicken life for a little bit.)

I was complaining about something today, and Sean said, "I think you just need to let people live their lives the way they want to." And I was like, "Oh, really? This from the guy who likes to tell people what to do all the time?" And then he chuckled, and I KID YOU NOT, went straight into the kitchen and started lecturing me for drinking out of my water bottle incorrectly.

This is my water bottle. Cute, right? It's great. It keeps water ice cold for long periods of time, and it's a nice size, which makes me drink more water throughout the day. The one thing I don't like about it is the little spout. I prefer to sip straight out of the side, so I just take the lid off any time I want to drink water. Apparently, this has been irking Sean since October 2019, and it took 38 days of being locked in a house together for him to finally say something about it.

I'm pretty sure this is all just a ploy to get me to stop using the water bottle so he can take it, but what do I know?

Then I went to Publix for our weekly grocery shopping trip, which has been made SO much easier thanks to Alexa's grocery list feature. (She organizes everything for you by aisle, so you don't forget anything!) I do have to wonder, though, if my phone will start to recognize me with a mask on any time soon? It gets a little old entering the passcode every time I need to look at our grocery list. (One positive to using pen and paper instead of a digital list...)

Sean had some more Bucs stuff he wanted to watch tonight, so I browsed Netflix for a good movie and came across The Spectacular Now. SO many familiar faces in this cast. I don't know how I had never heard of it before...? But it was good! Definitely not a movie I feel like I need to watch again because there wasn't much going on, and the ending was a little lackluster, but it was definitely enjoyable.

Day 39: Saturday, April 25th

Poor Michelle is going through a "season" of broodiness, so we spent the morning trying to help her through it. I was able to get her off the nest and in front of a water bowl for a while, and then she walked around the yard stretching her legs and wings, buuuut then she went right back up to the coop. Hopefully she'll be back to her happy, healthy self in a few days.

Some good news: My back is better! Today was my first day back to doing our regular daily workouts instead of opting for yoga and a bike ride. It is so nice to feel like I can walk and sit and stretch again without major pain.

After our workout, we went to Bowled Life to get açaí bowls, and then the healthy decisions stopped there. VODKA/SODA + MARG TIIIIME. 💃 I have officially perfected the margarita, and I'm ready to share:

2 shots of tequila
2 shots of lime juice
1 1/3 shot of Cointreau
3/4 shot of simple syrup (boil equal parts sugar and water until sugar dissolves)
a whisper of orange juice (about 1/3 shot)

It took a lot of trial and error, but it was research I was willing to do. You are welcome.

We spent the afternoon drunk gardening and hanging by the pool, and then I made some tofu tacos. (They were pretty amazing, if I do say so myself.)

We finished the evening with happy hour (well, five hours worth of happy hour) and games with some friends. I'm proud to say that Sean and I were the only couple that stayed awake for the whole thing. People were dropping like flies, but we prevailed.

Side note: During the virtual happy hour, we did some math and realized Sean and I have eaten more than 200 clementines so far. About a week into quarantine, we both became a little addicted to Cuties, and now I have one with every meal. Sean has one with every meal + a couple as snacks throughout the day. I now have to buy three bags every time I go to Publix to sustain our addiction.

Day 40: Sunday, April 26th

Day 40? Four...zero? FORTY? Holy hell, I did not expect this to go on so long. I mean, it makes sense, and I totally get it, but I did not think that we, as a nation, were this responsible. (Well, I guess we're not. People are protesting and refusing to wear masks and suggesting we all inject bleach - oh, wait. Just the president did that last one.) But here we are. 40 days, my friends.

I did nothing today. Absolutely nothing. I sat down to "watch one episode of Fuller House" and ended up watching an entire season. I totally forgot there was a new season forever ago, and I hadn't watched it yet, so I watched the whole thing in one day.

Fuller House is good, but it's not binge-an-entire-season-in-one-day good. But this is 40 [days into quarantine]. Oh, hey!

After my little marathon, I peeled myself off the couch and suggested we go buy some Smirnoff Ice so we can ding-dong-ditch Austin and Tara. (I had some stuff I needed to drop off anyway, so it was the perfect opportunity.)

It was super embarrassing buying Smirnoff Ice, but it did make me wonder - has the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors surged during this whole ordeal? Because there's no way the guy at the liquor store could tell me from anyone else by only seeing my eyes.

Anyway, the ding-dong-ditch was a success; although, we were caught on camera dropping off the goods so our cover was blown.

When we got home, we went for a bike ride, and I brought my phone with me so I could snap some photos of Emerson Point (pic of the day) and our favorite street on Snead Island:

Obsessed with this garden 😍

Day 41: Monday, April 27th

Zoom-ba with T-Money!

I joined Tara's weekly Zumba class tonight, and it was a blast! Also set two personal records - calories burned in one day and number of exercise minutes in one day - according to my watch, so that's neat.

Sean and I finished Waco on Netflix today. If you haven't watched it, I highly recommend it. It was amazing, albeit very sad. Sean has been researching the Branch Davidians hardcore now that the show is over, and it has quickly become to him what COVID-19 is to me. (I can't get enough of COVID-19 coverage. I want to know everything because I'm scared.)

Other shows we've watched/are watching that are good:
- Community (Netflix)
- Letterkenny (Hulu)
- The Boys (Prime)

I am 16 years old, so I drank some really sugary coffee at 4:30pm and then stayed up all night reading about the drama between Ariana Grande and her doppelgänger, Paige Neimann. Clearly I have run out of Internet to consume.

This has been a rollercoaster of a recap, huh? Just a lot of random thoughts with no real transitions or chronology...oh, well.

Day 42: Tuesday, April 28th

Fun fact: Tuesday is my least favorite day of the week. Not for any reason. I just think it's a stupid day. But today was good!

I cleaned my closet this morning. (That's been on the to-do list for at least three weeks at this point.) I still haven't actually gone through my clothes and gotten rid of things, but it's at least clean and organized...for the time being. I came across my selfie stick along the way! Exciting stuff.

Then something amazing happened. I watched Days of Our Lives and learned that one of the characters has...D.I.D.

I've been watching DOOL for only a couple weeks now, and it's already served up the trifecta: a character with multiple personalities, a baby swap, AND someone everyone thought was dead turning up alive. And also mind control, but I don't know what a trifecta is called when it's actually four things. Quadfecta?

Thank you for your service, DOOL.

This evening, Sean fixed the garage door (YAY), so we celebrated with a golf cart ride around the island. NGL, it felt pretty baller being able to push a button instead of manually lifting the door. Movin'. On. Up.

I ended the night with a call with my sister and a call with my mom. I'm missing my peeps!

Week 7, here we come.
