Merry Christmas! Here's our Christmas card and newsletter.

🎄 Hey, hey, hey! 🎄

Happy holidays from the Nesius fam! We hope this card finds you happy, healthy and with an abundance of LaCroix. (Also, please don’t be offended by the headline. We’re totally joking. 😊)

Looking back on this year, it feels like, “Wow, it flew by, and nothing really happened,” but that actually couldn’t be further from the truth. Lots of things happened! Good things! And that’s why you’re all getting a newsletter in addition to our mean sassy card.

You’ll notice we have a couple new additions to the Nesius household! Carly and Alli moved in with us in July, and we’re playing Aunt Mom/Uncle Dad/Foster Parents to them. Erica, Ryan and the kids moved to Japan in August, and they couldn’t take the dogs with them. This timing just happened to work out perfectly because Sean had been craving a big dog. Well, we got two, and we’re not even financially responsible for them! We get to enjoy cuddles and wiggly nubbin tails for two years, without the financial burden of having two additional dogs. Win-win.

Bailey is getting along well with them, which is always good. With time, the chickens have learned to trust them, too. It only took a few weeks of chasing them around (and Carly doing her business in the coop) for the girls to settle in and learn that birds are family, not food.

Speaking of chickens, we got a new one last December. Her name is Mildred. She’s unstable and kind of terrifying and tries to attack the dogs sometimes, but I’m hoping if I just keep throwing blueberries her way, she’ll spare me when she inevitably breaks into the house one night. (Fun fact: I left the back doors open on a particularly beautiful day, and she walked into the dining room when I wasn’t looking. Now she knows the layout of our house, which kind of keeps me up at night.)

If we look super chill in our photo, it’s because we’re islanders now. We sold our house and moved out to Snead Island in March. We are LOVING it! We pretty much lived in the pool all summer, and now we’re enjoying the hot tub. Our bathroom is the largest room in the house, and we’re trying to decide if mounting a TV on the wall is taking bath time too far. Once we get through paying for our trip to Japan, we’re going to start saving for a golf cart and really begin our transformation into true islanders. This time next year, you will probably not receive a card or newsletter because we will have become so engrained in this culture that we only speak to our Sneeps. (That’s “Snead” and “peeps” combined into one word. Keep up.) We will still remember you all fondly.

Sean and I officially spend every waking moment together, from our 5:30am workout to our daily commute to our 8-5 gig at Bealls Outlet. Sean got a promotion (and earned a bonus and won Planner of the Year) and now works in ecommerce, which means we are working together even more closely now! I do not have any promotions, bonuses or awards to share.

Other than that, it’s business as usual around the Nesius household...and that’s how we like it! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!

❤ Nat, Sean, Bailey, Alli, Carly, Michelle and Crazy “Millie” Mildred ❤
